Flat Roofs in Dorchester

Dorchester’s triple-deckers were built with both flat and pitched roofs, and the flat ones take a beating from snow, ponding water and decades of patching. When a roof has been patched one too many times, we tear it off down to the deck, install new insulation board, and finish it with a seamless EPDM rubber membrane. For roofs with life left in them, we repair seams, pipe boots and flashing.

Snow sits on a flat roof much longer than on a pitched one. After a hard winter, it pays to have the roof checked for split seams, lifted flashing and low spots that hold water, before spring rain finds them. A quick repair in April can save a ceiling, and sometimes a whole roof.
